Not really a straight forward question.
In theory there are NO secure sites on the net. Most are secure to varying degrees, but even Sony and internet provider AAPT have been hacked into recently.
The ports opened by client software such as GameRanger are not useable to access control of a PC. If you have a router with firewall / NAT and good up to date AV you should be OK.
If the site itself gets hacked and they get your password, really what's the worst that can happen? They may log on as you and play a GC!
If they did that to my account, they probably play better than me, my stats would improve!

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited
and found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some
of the great Close Combat mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank
all the members of our volunteer staff that have helped over
the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
