Ah, a near miss does score a half point evidently! A clue! After posting the one comment about the major route being a roadway, I began to suspect that it could indeed be a railway. The thing that threw me off are the dark spots along it. I was thinking those would be vehicles, when they are now probably shadows. A northern hemispheric orientation was my bad on that.

I've helped reset and adjust a center pivot irrigation system and seen them from the air many times. While Google Earthing around after my first comment, I did notice that it is quite common in many areas of the world.

So, Zulu Wars or Boer War. Not Rorke's Drift, Isandlwana or Spioen Kop. Looks too arid to be in Natal. The hunt is on!

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited and
found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some of the great Close Combat
mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank all the members of our volunteer staff that have
helped over the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
