I don't think Buck is available to respond before Friday so I am taking the liberty to confirm that you solved the Challenge.
You found the site that I hinted at (www.waroverholland.nl) . There is a lot of detailed information to be found and it's a great read for anyone wishing to expand his knowledge about the German campaign in Western Europe. The basis of this information is formed by reports, after action reports, loss reports etc. that the Dutch military was permitted by the German occupiers to collect and publish within months after the occupation.
I'm sure Buck will explain why he chose this particular event as a terrain challenge.

Thanks Pete for replying to this one. The answer is correct of course. The challenge was about the first part of the story. The 7,5cm gun commander's name was Wachtmeester Kruithof. He served in the KRA : Royal Mobile Artillery of the May 1940 era and I currently hold the same rank in a mobile artillery unit. That is how we are connected. There is a picture of his broken gun in the main entrance hall of our staff building. Also the 'all-ranks' bar at the artillery shooting range was named after him.
In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited
and found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some
of the great Close Combat mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank
all the members of our volunteer staff that have helped over
the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
