The problem is not that the mortars are too powerful. The problem is thatthe AT guns are badly coded, thus too weak.
Panzerjäger has successfully resolved this issue in SDK, SOC and SDKDK

like in most of the close combat games made the mortar has been to effective on guns and open top armour...modding has helped put this back to were its need to be in a lot of cases
as for TLD yes to effective.
