I fixed it. I used Advanced Uninstaller Pro (which is a great program) to uninstall everything. the mod manager leaves a lot of temp files kicking around, I think that was the problem. Live and learn, hopefully this post helps someone in the future.

I have a pain in the ass problem: I had al of my mods running great, was playing Afrika40-41 when I decided to change some of the vehicles with QClone. Made a mistake (but things still ran fine), but overwriting with my backup file didn't work. So I tried a complete uninstall and after doing it ten times, running CCleaner, going through the registry manually (everything mentioned on this forum) and here is the problem:

I do a good clean reinstall of CCV and everything is perfect. But when I install the 5.01 patch, all of my Allied units revert back to the Afrika40-41 mod. I assume there is a registry entry that I'm not deleting. If anyone can point me in the right direction for all the registry entries or tell me of a good free registry cleaner (I've use CCleaner) I would appreciate it. A reformat of my HD is kind of out of the question right now.

PostForum: CC5 Afrika 40'41   Posted: Sun Dec 07, 2008 8:56 pm   Subject: Some comments and questions
I'm really enjoying this mod, it's a little known (at least for me) part ofthe war,, and an interesting one, it prompted me to do some research. But I have a few questions about the battlegroup composition and vehicle weapons. (I'm playing with Salhex's vetmod and GC, and I'm on day 2 of the campaign.)

1) Why are there flamethrowers on the CO Bren carriers? I would assume that the weapon (if any) would be a Bren gun, which to me is much more useful with the long Line of vision in this mod.

2) Why are there no infantry command squads in the first battlegroups? My command vehicles are taking a huge beating, and sometimes don't last thirty seconds if I try to advance them with my infantry. I've found them with ReqEdit.

If the above questions are because of historical accuracy, then never mind my questions, since I haven't done much research, but I was curious. Thanks alot for the great mod!

Do I overwrite the existing files in my Data\Base directory? I'm new to this Vetmod stuff... Your advice is appreciated.

PostForum: Close Combat 3: The Russian Front   Posted: Sun Nov 30, 2008 3:15 pm   Subject: France 1940 Mod Verision 3 Troubles
Renaming the file using the character map worked for me.

But trying to play the battle "The Stonne Encounter", I would get a mesage saying 'cannot find stonne.mmm', so I downloaded Stonne1 and Stonne2 seperately from the custom maps downloads, and now I can play that battle. It seems to hve got rid of the insert CD problem as well.

Thanks a lot yukongold!! :^)

I also have this problem. I tried renaming the names.txt file, but it uses an accented 'u' and 'o', and I don't know how to get them on the english keyboard. So BUMP!!! Someone please help.

Right-click on the config manager .exe, go to properties, set compatibility to Windows 98/ME and setit to run as an adminstrator. This fixed it for me, now everything works well.

I have a (maybe) similar problem. The Manager installed fine, but when I try to install the Okinawa mod, the install fails. I think it's because I never install programs in the default folder, and C:\Program Files\SSI\ etc. is the default.

Any way to change the folder from the default? The mod managers .dll file?
