Which operating system do you use (win 98, xp, ...)?
First of all, did you install the patch 5.01 and did you follow the complete guide here?
Where did you dl the mod?
What error does it says when it crashes?
What is the latest screen you get when starting before the crash? example loading maps or something else.
Please write down as much comment (if possible a screenshot) so we can help you further.

Hi!
Thanks the answer.
I have WinXP Prof. The patch no good, when i installed, the original game is not running, so not running the mod so.
I dl mod from these webside.
I start game, starting. "Play a game", "Battles, scenarions, campaigns". I try campaign, as German. The game save "Grand Campaign", "Next" button, and a balck window, and out the desktop. No error, no loading map, nothing.
When i try solo battle, no problem. Good play, nothing problems.
The game no write any error, just out from game to windows.
I think I'm having the same problem as evilanthonyr is. I played at gamespy with the regular 5.01 mod and everything worked fine. Now I got a Cable modem and downloaded GJS. Followed mooxe's instructions. I can play the game great - by myself but when I go to gamespy and try to play things go astray.
As soon as the game launches the screen goes black and just the pointer is visible. I wait and the game just doesn't start.
I have windows XP and I shut off the firewalls.
I tried hosting and I can't get a connection. Gamespy worked before I downloaded GJS and I can play the game against the computer.
any fix suggestions would be appriciated.

After I installed GJS the cc5 game comes up as GJS I'm not sure how to go back to the regular mod - I could not find the directioins. I'm also not sure how to install the SAS game. I see that people in gamespy switch the mods around but I could not find directions on how it is done.
I bought the cable modem just so I can play and I'm having no sucsess.
If anyone could offer assistance in the form of links or otherwise I would appreciate it.
If you use the plugin manager, it is very easy
Just open up your config manager, highlight / right click the mod you installed and uninstall it.
After this is done, you can select a mod again in the lower screen and install that one
As soon as the game launches the screen goes black and just the pointer is visible. I wait and the game just doesn't start.
Had this in the past as well, I thought it was something wrong with the mod, then I fugured out I had to wait a while longer than in the regular game.
If you start up in gs, give it some minutes (say 5 min) if then your screen is still black, then there is something wrong.
(PS do you host or do you join a game?)

That helped knowing about the long wait time, however I found somtimes it started right up. I hosted games - still haven't joined one, but played today by hosting get bored wating to join.
On SAS game do you just load that the same as gjs but with no maps?
here you have installation guides. with the configuration manager its very simple to install/uninstall mods (as you will see in the guides). SAS plugin contains the maps but for GJS the maps are needed separately.
