Re: Terrain Challenge #26 (Score: 1) by Buck_Compton on Tue Feb 16, 2010 3:05 am (User Info | Send a Message) | I can't say you what we are exactly looking at but here is what i'm seeing.
- The 2 offshore isle's. they have a quite thick black shadow on the the southern side.... Suggesting this might be rocky isle's
- The larger Isle on the left has a connection with the mainland. My guess is that on low tide a road or a patch of crossable sand emerges above the water.
- It seems there are a lot of streems heading from the inalnd in to the ocean/sea/lake.
- For those who think dis is defenitly not Anzio nor Salerno.
- The color of the terrain. It looks muddyish.
- the Shoreline, if any, seems to be very small
-the weird brown patch on the right. Its man made thats for sure... no object in nature that will look like this...
- Altough ist seems like there are a lot of streams. there doesnt seem to be extreme large Height diffrence's
- THe color of the map made me think of a afrika 40-41 map :P or is this me hitting the spot??
hahaha Right. Good luck guys |

I bet this isn't pacific theathre as most of the beaches are white(ish) over there. And the inland is usually very green. So i just went over some places like Cuba and the Falklands. But they wheren't it...
I guess i need another hint... What war or wich period was this? ww2 or pre or post?

My first hunch was the Graf Spee wich was sank in Uruguay if i'm not mistaken Rio Plate or something like that. That wasn't it. Other than that i don't really know much about ww2 in southern America.
I will keep on searching....
